Carolina Glow
Oh how I'd like to go back to Carolina.
How I'd Love to see my Carolina home.
But she's been sold out,
There ain't no place left for me to hold out
And it hurts to see my Carolina Glow.

The fire's are burnin', from the inside out.
And nobody seems to be able to put those fire's out.
She's been cheated,
So mistreated
And it hurts to see my Carolina Glow.

Bridge:
And I can see the fires a-burnin' like a fire in the trees.
I can smell the pain of dyin' on the radiation breezes.
I've done everything a man can do. I even got down on my knees,
And crawled up to Washington to ask the politicians Won't you Please.
Kindly save just one clean place for me.

But they keep on bringin' in that garbage,
It lasts ten thousand years.
Payin' no attention to the bodies that it sears.
I wish that you could see it,
I only want to free it.
'Cause it hurts to see my Carolina Glow.

Oh how I'd like to go back to Carolina.
How I'd Love to see my Carolina home.
But she's been sold out
There ain't no place left for me to hold out.
And it hurts to see my Carolina Glow.
Oh oh oh oh oh,
I said it hurts to see my Carolina Glow.
Oh oh oh oh oh,
And I'd like to see the power plants all go.
Oh oh oh oh oh,
It hurts to see my Car-o-lin-a Glow.

Eno River Song

Chorus:
There's a new moon risin' on the Eno.
There's a new dawn beginnin' every day.
A brand new feelin' is fillin' up my life.
And I call it Love,
I call it Love.

There's too many ways to live this life
For a man to not be free.
So find the Light within yourself,
And let your Light shine on me.
Take a needle and sew yourself
To the Unity of Man.
Become a piece of the patchwork,
In Harmony with the land.

Chorus:
And There's a new moon risin' on the Eno.
There's a new dawn beginnin' every day.
A brand new feelin' is fillin' up my life.
And I call it Love,
I call it Love.

There's people turnin' on all over the country,
To the sound of the guitar strings.
The feelin' of Love, the sky up above,
And the joy that the bluebird brings.
There's no need to be so bummed out.
It's not so bad you see.
There's no price to pay for freedom,
'Cause freedom is always free.

Chorus:
And There's a new moon risin' on the Eno.
There's a new dawn beginnin' every day.
A brand new feelin' is fillin' up my life.
And I call it Love,
I call it Love.

Hello Old Friends
Printer friendly version
Hello old friends, I'm so glad you've arrived.
I been waiting so long, won't you please come inside of me.
And visit a while. You know I can't stay.
There's one more tomorrow I'm longing to play.
And I don't want to lose you.
I don't want to lose you.
I don't want to lose you.
No I don't want to lose you again.

There's a storm comin' up, but it's getting me down.
Thunder is a rollin' it's a shakin' the ground.
But it's makin' me feel so very small.
If we're really together, we belong to us all.
And I won't ever lose you.
I won't ever lose you.
I won't ever lose you.
No I won't ever lose you again.

Now look at a candle, it burns as a flame.
Though we may seem different, we are really the same.
When I look in your eyes. It's just like a candle.
The love that is shinin' is all I can handle.
And I don't want to lose you.
I don't want to lose you.
I don't want to lose you.
No I don't want to lose you again.

If we all go our ways, so far apart.
You know I won't lose you 'cause you're here in my heart.
Now we're together it's alright if we go.
This feelin' inside can do nothing but grow.
And I won't ever lose you.
I won't ever lose you.
I won't ever lose you.
No I won't ever lose you again.

Pamela

Pamela, Sometimes I'm high.
Pamela, baby, sometimes your old man just gets so high.
Now you gave me some of your love,
You know I feel the Spirit of the Lord Above.
And every day it's gonna get much better,
From now on.

Sittin' in the kitchen, Doin' some bewitchin' with a pot or two.
Cookin' up some goodies, tryin' to help some people that you love to get high too.
Cast your golden, glowin' gaze my way.
And please beleive me when I say.
That every day it's gonna get much better,
From now on.

Takin' joy around,
Givin' it to people just to make 'em smile.
Hummin', singin', spinnin' in and out among the flowers for just a while.
And the best of it all is at night.
When we kiss and hug and turn out the light.
And every day it's gonna get much better,
From now on.

Pamela, sometimes I'm high.
Pamela, baby, sometimes your old man just gets so high.
Now I'm sharin' in your grace.
You put my whole world in a better place.
And every day it's gonna get much better,
From now on.
And every day it's gonna get much better, Honey
From now on.

Revolution
Printer friendly version
Oh there's so much more to music,
Than a simple melody.
And there's so much more to singin'
Than a three part harmony.
And there's so much more to Lovin',
Than just sayin' the words "I Do",
And there's so much more to revolution
Than changin' point of view.

You know the songs we sing are simple,
But that feelin' is so Devine.
And harmony is you and me just singin' simple rhymes.
And Lovin' means to be just One
And if I could I would.
And a simpler word for revolution is.... Brotherhood.

Well I don't know, but I've been told
That the streets of Heaven are paved with gold,
And I'm gonna make it home before I die.
Now somebody told me it was in this direction
But I can't seem to make a connection.
I need a shot of rock and roll to get me by.

How long must I wait
While the politicians participate
In a scheme to keep a poor man on his knees?
How long can a man keep givin'
He's got to have Love to keep on livin'
Share a little bit with your Brother if you can.

'Cause I know I've got to deal with that man
And I'm standin' here with my empty hand.
And it's not part of my constitution
To live my life in destitution.
I want to have that revolution Now.

Oh there's so much more to music,
Than a simple melody.
And there's so much more to singin'
Than a three part harmony.
And there's so much more to Lovin',
Than just sayin' the words "I Do",
And there's so much more to revolution
Than changin' point of view.
You know the songs we sing are simple,
But that feelin' is so Devine.
And harmony is you and me
Just singin' simple rhymes.
And Lovin' means to be just One
And if I could I would.
And a simpler word for revolution is.... Brotherhood.
Brotherhood.
Sisterhood.
It sure feels good.

Rollin'
Printer friendly version
Well I don't know if it's the Gypsy in me
That makes me want to keep on rollin'.
Or maybe I was just born into changin' times.
All I know is the highway callin'
Is a sound that's so consolin'.
And those lonesome stretches have become good friends of mine.

Now I don't want to be wastin' my time
On people that don't want to see me.
I don't feel like playin' those games no more.
What I need is those big truck tires
And an interstate ramp to free me.
And I'm already home when I hear that motor roar.

Chorus:
And you can pour me another cup of coffee
Maybe just another quick toke.
And I'm gonna get on the South bound lane,
I'm gonna take off my overcoat.
Gonna slide on down to the ocean.
Spend a little time in the sun.
Wrap my arms around my sweet old lady.
Let her know that she's the only one.
Except for the rollin'.
Gotta keep rollin'. Keep on rollin'.
Rollin' on.

Now some people tell me that my time is comin'.
Soon I'm gonna have to stop strayin'.
But I don't see how such a thing could come to pass.
Well when the wind stops blowin'
And the sea stops flowin'
Then I might consider stayin'.
Until I do I'm gonna have to keep buyin' gas.

Repeat Chorus:

Song For Our Fathers
Printer friendly version
I Love you like an oak tree loves the ground.
I Love you like a singer loves sound.
And I love you like the ocean loves the sand
And I love you more than anybody can.
And it seems to me so foolish.
Just to argue on and on.
When the things we disagree on
We've agreed on for so long.
We all want freedom.
To live our lives the best we can.
Yes, and Harmony
Between ourselves and our fellow man.
And Peace and Understandin'.
Reach out and put your hand in mine.
And live this Life of Love for One another.

I miss you like a hobo misses home.
And I miss you like a quarry misses stone.
And I miss you like the rivers miss the sea.
And for what it's worth you're always part of me.
And it seems to me so foolish.
Just to argue on and on
And to waste the time we're given,
'Till the time we have is gone.
We all want happiness.
To live our lives with smiles and laughter.
And ecstasy,
To find the Truth that's what we're after.
And Peace and Understandin'.
Reach out and put your hand in mine.
And live this life
In Holy Love......for everybody.

Sunshine Pourin' Out
Printer friendly version
Seems like such a long, long time ago.
I listened to the radio.
Playin' songs about the way things ought to be.
Then I practiced concentration.
Concentrate on meditation.
Tryin' to find the eye to make a blind man see.

Chorus:
And there's sunshine pourin' out
From behind the cloudy skies.
It's fillin' up a world that's turned so black.
And it's not just me, it's everybody, oh yeah.
You give a little lovin', You get a little lovin' right back.

Now we can love each other in the mornin'
We can love each other at night.
When we find ourselves in love with lovin'
Then we know everything's all right.
Smilin' on our brothers
In a way to let them see.
That there ain't nothin' gonna stop us being Free.

Repeat Chorus:
I been around this town such a long time,
Although it seems like a mighty short while.
To see a few people just understandin'.
Don't you know it makes a little boy smile.
Well now that you got the feelin'
Won't you let everybody know.
That there's no more waitin' Start celebratin' right now.

Because there's sunshine pourin' out
From behind the cloudy skies.
It's fillin' up a world that's turned so black.
And it's not just me, it's everybody, oh yeah.
You give a little lovin',
You get a little lovin' right back.
You give a little lovin',
You get a little lovin' right back.
Yeah you give a little lovin',
You get a little lovin' right back.

The Tree Song
Printer friendly version
Now I am just a little kid,
I'm prob'ly less than seven.
The tree that stands in my backyard,
To me it's simply Heaven.
I climb up in the treetops tall,
And swing from limb to limb.
And if anyone even touches it,
I'll surely murder him.

Chorus:
Because, hey,
No one's gonna swing in my tree.
I said hey, no one's gonna swing in my tree.

We used to have a little cat,
Got in my tree one time.
I watched her as she snuck around,
And up the tree she climbed.
I quickly got my BB gun,
And quicker ran outside.
I shot the kitty in the eye,
And the little kitty died.

Chorus:
Because, hey,
No one's gonna swing in my tree.
I said hey, no one's gonna swing in my tree.

A little dog he dug a hole,
To bury a bone he had.
But he dug the hole beside my tree,
And that was very bad.
I grabbed up mother's garden hoe,
And hit him in the head.
Dug the hole a little deeper and
Put the dog in it instead.

Chorus:
Because, hey,
No one's gonna swing in my tree.
I said hey, no one's gonna swing in my tree.

Now I grew up, my tree did too,
But I kept my bad habits.
I was killin' things, well left and right,
As fast as breedin' rabbits.
But when I killed the clerk downtown,
For overchargin' me.
They sentenced me to die and then
They hung me in my tree.

Chorus:
And so, hey,
I got to swing in my tree.
I said hey, I got to swing in my tree.
I said hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
I got to swing in my tree.
